Hi

My name is Laleh

I am a former nurse. When I was a nurse, I had the chance to see different patients who needed help either physically or mentally. I remember the time that I had to do some difficult procedure and I had to explain to the patient to inform them and at the same time try to relieve their stress and fear of the situation. For me to do that, I must know my patient’s needs well, and most of the time I had to put myself in their shoes to be able to make them relax and help them to understand why I must do the procedure. The Empathy that comes with my job is in my blood and even though I am not doing nursing now I still know and care about people's feelings and needs.

After being a nurse in my country, when I immigrated to the US, to meet life's ends I had to start working in general jobs. I started to work as a sales associate where I had to work with various customers with different needs. At this point, I realize that I need to use my communication skills to have great connections with my colleagues and my clients. Working in the department store helped me to strengthen my teamwork and collaboration with people from various cultures.

I learned about UX from social media and since I have always been willing to care about people and feel responsible to assist them to get through their issues, I realized I found the field that matches my characteristics. It is a field that tries to provide solutions for people’s problems. I got curious to know more about this field.

When I am not working, I sometimes draw or paint. I also know how to sew, and I can cruciate. I used to play tennis, but these days I mostly do some mobility and Pilates movements.
